POSITION

Mintivo is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Technology to take full ownership of our technical strategy, project delivery, and technology direction. This is a multi-faceted leadership role in a growing MSP, combining strategic vision with the ability to provide hands-on delivery support when deadlines require.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in solutions architecture, having developed a deep understanding of on-premises infrastructure early in their career, and progressed to become an expert in Azure and cloud-first solutions. You will lead the Projects and Consultancy function, be accountable for both technical delivery and the project management function, and work with the Commercial team to package technical capabilities into commercially viable service offerings.
You will be equally comfortable shaping long-term technical strategy, guiding and developing your team, engaging with customers at a senior level, and directly contributing to delivery when necessary.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership or solutions architecture role, with demonstrable impact on business growth.
• Strong track record of defining and executing technical strategy in a growing MSP or IT services business.
• Ability to translate complex technical capability into scalable, commercially viable solutions.
• Expertise in:
• Microsoft 365 and Modern Endpoint Management
• Microsoft Azure (design, migration, deployment, and management)
• On-premises infrastructure (Hyper-V, VMware, Active Directory, networking)
• Hybrid environments and cloud migration strategies
• Strong track record of delivering complex IT projects from inception to completion.
• Experience managing both technical teams and project management functions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
• Willingness to contribute directly to delivery when necessary.
• Relevant Microsoft or certifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable:

• Experience with ISO frameworks (ISO27001, ISO9001)
• Familiarity with Cyber Essentials, or other equivalent regulated environments
• Experience with SonicWALL, Fortinet or Cisco
• Project Management qualification (i.e. APM, Prince2 or Agile)

Strategic Technical Leadership

• Define and own Mintivo’s technology strategy, ensuring it underpins business growth and customer success.
• Shape and evolve Mintivo’s service offerings, translating technical capability into products the Commercial team can take to market.
• Identify emerging technologies and assess their commercial potential for enhancing services and driving revenue.
• Act as the senior authority on all technology-related decisions, governance, and direction.

Project & Technical Delivery Ownership

• Lead and manage both the project management function and technical delivery for all client projects.
• Oversee scoping, resourcing, scheduling, and delivery to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Line manage the Project Manager and Technical Team Lead, ensuring priorities are clear and accountability is maintained.
• Drive continual improvement of technical and project delivery methodologies.

Commercial Enablement

• Work in partnership with the Commercial team to develop, package, and position technical solutions for the market.
• Provide presales consultancy, technical roadmaps, and solution designs to support sales opportunities.
• Ensure solutions are commercially viable, scalable, and aligned with Mintivo’s strategic objectives.

Hands-On Contribution

• Provide direct technical input and delivery support when required to meet critical deadlines or high-priority client requirements.
• Maintain current technical expertise to underpin both leadership credibility and delivery capability.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Projects and Consultancy team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.
• Build and maintain strong vendor and partner relationships to enhance technical capability and deliver commercial value.
