The Role: The Head of Technology Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring Carey’s technology environment is reliable, secure and future-ready. The role leads the operational lifecycle of the School’s technology environment, delivering stable, high‑quality services that enable School outcomes, enhance staff capability, and support an excellent student experience. Sitting within the Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) portfolio, this position drives a strong service culture and partners closely with business leaders, the Projects and Capability function, and external vendors. The role provides strategic and hands‑on leadership across infrastructure, service management, cybersecurity uplift, and operational readiness. This is a full-time, permanent position. Success Measures Stable, reliable, and high-performing technology services High levels of staff satisfaction with technology support Clear service visibility through an effective service catalogue Controlled, predictable release and change cycles Strong financial and vendor performance management The Person: To be successful in this position, you will have: Proven leadership experience in technology or service operations within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation (education, health, or similarly regulated environments desirable) Minimum 5 years in technical operations, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity. Strong expertise in Windows infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms. Hands-on experience managing ITIL-based service operations, including incident, problem, and change management. Demonstrated ability to uplift cybersecurity maturity and operational resilience. Excellent people leadership skills, including team development, conflict resolution, and performance oversight. Strong vendor management and financial control experience. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
