OVERVIEW

CNBC International is seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead our APAC news coverage and drive editorial decisions. This pivotal role will oversee the newsroom, in addition to leading the production of one of the dayside shows on the grid. Reporting directly to the VP, News & Partnerships, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide strong leadership and drive the newsroom culture.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of television production experience leading teams to produce quality business news
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of global business, financial, and economic news
  • Proven experience in setting the editorial agenda to generate / produce distinctive content that differentiates content from competitors
  • At least 7 years of prior experience in news management
  • Exceptional control room experience
  • Experience in contributing to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of mentoring and developing Producers, Senior Producers, and On-Air Talents
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster relationships within and beyond CNBC
  • Superior writing and production capabilities, including strong script writing abilitiesFluency in English language

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily editorial coverage, ensuring our coverage provides compelling and essential business and financial news
  • Collaborate with Newsroom leadership in other regions
  • Lead the linear editorial team and provide guidance and support to drive essential and compelling content
  • Champion & model a respectful, accountable, and professional working culture in the newsroom
  • Supervise & lead one of the shows in the APAC programming grid, managing the team and the content
  • Motivate and organize the APAC Output TV Production teams, driving actionable content strands and segments that push CNBC’s output to the next level
  • Collaborate with Assignments Editor & Head of News Desk to assign On-Air Talent and Producers for outside broadcasts and assignments and liaise closely with the Broadcast Operations department to execute coverage plans to world class standard
  • Maintain and manage forward planning diaries (big interviews, events and OB coverage) and keep them constantly up to date, in conjunction with VP, News & Programming
  • Contribute to CNBC APAC editorial relationships and access, maintaining world class access to leading business leaders and policy makers
  • Actively engage in integrating the TV, News Desk, Digital and Digital Video & Social teams. Collaborate with the Editorial Leadership team to innovate and bring to life joint TV, Digital and Social collaborations, platforms and product offerings
  • Lead the recruitment, training and retention of new Output and On-Air employees, including production, editorial and presentation training
  • Ensure ‘best of’ content is shared across all CNBC regions and NBC channels and maximize distribution of key interviewsAdhere to CNBC editorial standards and best practices
