Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As Head of Women’s Physiotherapy, you will lead the development and delivery of world-class Physical Therapy services within our Women’s Programme. You will ensure that injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance support meet the club’s ambition to be recognised globally as a leader in elite sport.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop physiotherapy provision for the Women’s Programme in line with the club’s Physiotherapy Service Standards.
  • Liaise with club physiotherapists, doctors, paramedical consultants, soft tissue therapists, osteopaths, podiatrists and external healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding player care.
  • Work closely with football coaches, team doctors, performance and strength & conditioning coaches, and sports scientists to manage player availability for training, matches, and conditioning programmes.
  • Ensure comprehensive physical screening and maintain accurate physiotherapy records in compliance with professional standards.
  • Lead and coordinate injury prevention programmes in collaboration with the Women’s Team Doctor, coaching and performance staff, and other physical therapy practitioners.
  • Oversee the daily provision of soft tissue therapy/massage services for players.
  • Support match-day preparation for Women’s Team fixtures, including providing emergency injury care as required.
  • Report regularly on team injury profiles to the Head of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy for professional development and review.
  • Collaborate with line managers to identify opportunities for departmental development, including research projects and participation in expert groups.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing across the department.
  • Maintain flexibility in working hours in line with the demands of the training and match schedule.
