Medivet Orrell Park is now recruiting an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join their amazing team on a full-time basis.
Ran by our Branch Partner Andy, Orrell Park is a fully equipped practice with 5 consult rooms and a spacious reception with a separate cat/dog waiting area. The practice also has separate rooms for prep, dental x-rays, kennels, cat wards, x-ray, staff room and an office upstairs!
Our lovely team is made up of 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 VCA, 4 CCAs, and 7 vets. The vets work across both Medivet Anfield and Orrell Park.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30am-6:30pm and 9:30am-7:30pm plus 1 in 8 full weekends at Alder 24 Hour Hospital.
There is parking outside the practice and Orrell Park train station is a 4-minute walk away!

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous leadership experience is essential (ideally in a large practice environment)
• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care
• Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague

In this role you will:

• Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
• Engage, coach and develop your team.
• Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community.
