Description
Company Description foodpanda is part of the Delivery Hero Group, the world’s pioneering local delivery platform, our mission is to deliver an amazing experience—fast, easy, and to your door. We operate in over 70+ countries worldwide. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Delivery Hero has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and is part of the MDAX stock market index. Job Description Role Mission To design, launch, and scale delivery-first kitchen concepts that: Work under Bangladeshi constraints Are profitable at scale Improve customer experience for foodpanda Are continuously optimized using Pandora data 🧠 How foodpanda & Pandora Shape This Rolefoodpanda Values Embedded This role is expected to live these values daily: Customers First → Taste, consistency, and delivery reliability beat novelty Think Local, Act Fast → Bangladesh problems require Bangladesh solutions Get Things Done → Bias toward action, not perfect planning Ownership Mentality → Treat each kitchen like your own business No Ego, All Impact → Kill concepts early if data disagrees Pandora Mindset Pandora is not a dashboard—it is how decisions are made. You are expected to: Hypothesize → test → learn → iterate Use data to kill ideas faster, not justify them longer Build concepts that get better with every order 🧩 Core Responsibilities1. Delivery-First Concept Design Build low-variance, high-repeat food concepts optimized for: 25–35 min delivery Heat retention Packaging durability Ruthlessly simplify menus to protect consistency. Launch few concepts, scale only survivors. Success ≠ number of launches Success = concepts that survive rain, peak load, and staff churn. 2. First-Principles Thinking (Non-Negotiable Skill) You must deconstruct kitchens and concepts to fundamentals: What must be cooked fresh vs can be pre-prepped? What drives repeat vs first-order curiosity? What fails first when volume doubles? Where does cost add zero customer value? You are expected to re-derive answers from ground reality, not import playbooks from other markets. 3. Kitchen Operations & Control Oversee concept kitchens, cloud kitchens, and partner-operated kitchens. Build SOPs for: Prep workflows Food safety & hygiene Quality consistency Waste and pilferage control Design incentive structures that reward: Consistency Throughput Low error rates This role requires regular kitchen-floor presence. 4. Problem Solving Under Real Constraints Typical problems you will face: Staff attrition Supplier inconsistency Infrastructure disruptions Sudden demand spikes Inconsistent partner execution You must: Frame problems clearly Isolate root causes Test practical fixes Scale only what survives stress This is a calm, structured problem-solver’s role, not a creative one. 5. Data-Driven Optimization (Pandora-Led) Use Pandora to track: Contribution margin per SKU Repeat rates by concept Prep time vs delivery success Identify: Concepts to scale SKUs to remove Operational bottlenecks Translate data insights into simple, executable kitchen actions. 🧬 Ideal Candidate ProfileExperience (Must-Have) 8–12+ years in food operations, including: QSR chains Cloud kitchen operators Large catering or commissary kitchens Direct ownership of P&L or unit economics Experience in emerging or imperfect markets strongly preferred 🚫 Not ideal: Fine dining–only backgrounds Hotel F&B without scale exposure Pure brand or marketing roles Skill Set First-Principles Thinking Breaks businesses into time, cost, labor, heat, and packaging Questions “industry norms” Builds solutions from what must be true Structured Problem Solving Clear problem framing Root-cause focus Comfortable with incomplete data Fast learning cycles Operational Leadership Can lead blue-collar, high-attrition teams Process-driven, not personality-driven Firm but fair execution style Commercial Judgment Understands Bangladesh price sensitivity Knows when scale helps margins—and when it destroys them 📊 Success Metrics (12–18 Months) Higher repeat rate for owned concepts vs marketplace average Lower order failure and complaint rates Stable contribution margins at scale Fewer launches, higher survival rate Kitchens that run without hero dependence 🧠 Final Reality Check This role is not a brand head role. It is food infrastructure + portfolio management under constraints. You will succeed here if you: Think clearly Act decisively Respect ground reality Let data—not ego—decide Additional Information An extra steep learning curve. A dynamic and challenging work environment. A company committed to developing you personally and professionally. A vibrant and international team committed to diversity and inclusion. Regular company and team events. Responsibility from day one in a fast-growing and global company. Other benefits include health insurance and learning and development opportunities!
