We are looking for a Head Shipper to join our Finished Goods Warehouse!
Night Shift Hours: Sunday to Thursday 11:00pm to 7am
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Head Shipper is responsible for the planning and organization of customer orders and employee scheduling and relations. They will ensure availability of shipping items, prepare shipping documentation, and assist with inventory control.

What you’ll do:

  • Organize daily work schedules for shipper-receivers and shunt drivers across various locations.
  • Prepare shipping documentation.
  • Organize and prepare orders to be picked
  • Respond to emails from customers and schedule pick up times with carriers
  • Assist with Inventory control
  • Monitor and ensure resource availability including packaging items, shipping items and pallets and ensure that various departments are adequately resourced.
  • Perform forklift and dock inspections.
  • Respond to interpersonal and employee issues that arise, involving the Warehouse Manager as needed.
  • Provide training and monitor job performance and evaluations to employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Act as back-up to Shipper-Receivers.
  • Act as back-up to Head Shippers on other shifts.
  • General housekeeping and sanitation duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll have:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Forklift Certificate.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Decisiveness, initiative, attention to detail, and high accuracy.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to explain ideas, delegate work, motivate, and inspire members of the team.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiar with FIFO and other warehousing best practices.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite, QAD).
