MAHUBE-OTWA is actively recruiting a service minded individual with a strong independent initiative and excellent driving skills to work as a part time Bus Driver for our Detroit Lakes Head Start Sites. The purpose of this position is to transport children to/from Head Start on a daily basis including field trips. Responsible for cleaning and inspecting the bus and child restraints as well as assisting with maintenance. Go home each day knowing you made a difference in the life of a child! Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Standards and Minnesota transportation regulations. Able to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Must be able to apply common sense solutions in standardized situations. Must be able to work in a positive and cooperative manner with parents, children and staff. Must effectively and appropriately address young children including typical behavior situations. Must honor private and confidential information. Must have basic computer skills. Must possess valid MN commercial driver license with passenger endorsement or be willing to obtain. Must have acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

The Head Start Bus Driver is responsible for transporting children to and from Head Start, including field trips, while ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bus. The driver will also assist with maintenance and inspections of the bus and child restraints.
