Description: · Support for Education Coaches:· Provide individualized coaching and professional development to Education Coaches (ECs), to strengthen their ability to support classroom teachers through CLASS and COT observations and practice-based coaching (PBC).· Facilitate training sessions on CLASS and COT methodology, effective coaching strategies, and the integration of evidence-based practices into daily instruction. · Support ECs in developing individualized coaching plans aligned with the needs of teachers and classrooms.· Guide ECs in analyzing observational data and providing targeted, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
· CLASS & Practice-Based Coaching:· Lead the implementation of the CLASS and COT frameworks across all classrooms, ensuring consistent and high-quality teacher-child strategies.· Support using Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) to foster reflective practices, professional goal setting, and intentional action planning.· Assist ECs in facilitating coaching cycles, including goal development, focused observation, feedback, and reflection. · Provide modeling and feedback on effective coaching techniques and conversations, to build ECs’ capacity.
· Training & Professional Development:· Coordinate and oversee CLASS Observer Reliability training certification for designated staff conducting formal CLASS observations. · In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Education and Support Services, schedule and coordinate CLASS observations twice per program year, ensuring alignment with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS).· Oversee COT training and implementation for education staff and facilitate observation planning and data collection aligned with the program calendar.· Design and deliver targeted professional development for ECs and teaching staff, focusing on engagement strategies, improving observation scores, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practices.· Develop training that aligns with local, state, and national standards, including HSPPS, Texas Child Care Regulation, and NAEYC accreditation standards.· Deliver training using observational data and assessment tools to inform individualized instruction and intentional teaching.
· Collaboration & Coordination:· Partner with the Assistant Director of Education and Support Services to develop strategies that strengthen classroom quality and improve child outcomes.· Actively participate in the School Readiness Advisory Committee and other relevant committees.· Collaborate with the Education Support Team (curriculum and assessment specialists) on Coaching, curriculum, and assessment strategies. · Consult Center Directors, ECIs, and LEAs on different instruction, inclusive practices, and behavior support for all children, including those with IEP/IFSP or challenging behaviors.· Coordinate and support key program initiatives and events, including but not limited to, Week of the Young Child (WOYC), Parent Summit, New Teacher Orientation (NTO), Teacher Appreciation, and Conscious Discipline implementation.· Participate in regular meetings to share guidance, feedback, and best practices with ECs and specialists.· Promote a culture of collaboration and empowerment among education staff, fostering reflective practice and continuous growth. · Contributes to developing a comprehensive, data-informed teacher coaching plan in coordination with the Education Support Team and program leadership.
· Data-Driven Support & Reflection:· Assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from classroom observations and child outcome assessments.· Support ECs and teachers in setting actionable goals based on data insights. · Monitor implementation of coaching action plans, offering additional guidance as needed to ensure goal achievement.· Present findings, progress, and department goals at School Readiness Advisory Committee Meetings.
· Administrative Support & Reporting:· Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, training activities, classroom observations and teacher progress. · Ensure all required documentation is completed and maintained in compliance with Head Start regulations and agency policies.· Provide regular departmental updates to the AD of Education and Support Services. · Prepare monthly summaries of training, coaching efforts, and classroom quality trends.
· Other:· Stay current on best practices in child development, instructional coaching, adult learning, and early childhood education. · Participate in internal program monitoring, self-assessment, and continuous improvement processes. · Attend departmental meetings, planning sessions, and approved professional development opportunities.· Travel locally and regionally for training, site visits, and professional/business-related activities.· Perform any other tasks as assigned. Requirements: EducationRequired: Baccalaureate in early childhood education or a baccalaureate and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with teaching experience.Preferred: Masters or advanced degree in early childhood education or a related field.
ExperienceRequired: At least three years of professional, supervisory, data analysis, and/or management experience associated with educational, social services as related to Head Start programs.Preferred: At least five years of professional, supervisory, data analysis, and/or management experience associated with educational and social services related to Head Start programs
