WE ARE LOOKING FOR HEAD START LEAD TEACHERS FOR OUR LOCATION IN PHILADELPHIA!

The Head Start Lead Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and child centered learning environment where children can reach the next milestone in their development. With the support of the Director(s), they tend to the daily needs of children in their care, plan lessons and hands on activities, record observation and assessments, plan family involvement activities, and create a high-quality Pre-Kindergarten learning experience.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors’ degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (child development, special education, elementary education, or human service field) with 30 ECE credits or Career Lattice 6 on the PA Keys Quality Career Lattice
• 2-5 years of Prekindergarten room experience
• Minimum of 1 years teaching in a high quality Preschool program (STAR 3, 4, Head Start, PreK Counts) preferred
• Certified in First Aid, CPR, and Mandated Reporting
• Knowledge of state licensing and accreditation systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use technology such as iPads and other educational resources
• Ability to make judgement calls and problem solve
• English and Spanish literacy preferred
