Position Overview:
The Lead Teacher will create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that fosters student achievement and growth, while delivering clear, standards-aligned instruction and collaborating with staff and families to support student success. This role requires a passionate educator skilled in managing diverse learning needs, maintaining an organized classroom, and communicating effectively with students and parents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Head Start Teacher will create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that helps foster students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide daily instruction, including clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments that align with school’s curriculum and standards.
  • Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences into lessons that broaden students’ exposure and interests, help foster student ingenuity, and require the application of knowledge and skills acquired through daily instruction.
  • Head Start Teacher will provide a classroom environment that is visually appealing, rich with resources aligned to curriculum and standards, and honors student’s achievement with current
  • and accurate displays of exemplary student work.
  • Communicate with students to understand their talents, interests, and needs and to convey learning expectations and their progress toward meeting those expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with families to identify students’ talents, interests, and needs and update parents regarding students’ achievements and progress.
  • Collaborate with school-based staff and throughout the school network in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance students’ learning experience and increase student achievement.

  • Ability to move and react quickly and to handle emergencies effectively
  • Ability to abide by all rules and regulations applicable to workers of the center

  • Acquire knowledge of the current curriculum and implement the curriculum practices in the classroom
  • Good with young children, kind, well-spoken, attention to detail and attentive to children’s needs, good at anticipating what will happen next

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution
  • Or Master’s Degree
