YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Capital Power is seeking a seasoned Trader to provide strategic leadership in the Eastern power markets (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE) . This role is ideal for a forward-thinking professional with a strong track record in dynamic trading environments and a passion for optimizing natural gas power plant performance and enhancing trading strategies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing market strategies, managing risk exposure, and driving profitability across key markets.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related field with a solid academic record.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in physical and financial power trading with strong knowledge of delta hedging strategies, Eastern Interconnect power and gas term markets and risk management.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Experience trading heat rates, locational spreads, and time spreads.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting complex data and making decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
