As a Head Usher, you’ll play a visible leadership role in delivering exceptional performing arts experiences every night. A Day in the Life of a Head Usher Your shift begins with energy and purpose. As a Head Usher, you’re supervising usher teams, preparing for patron arrivals, and setting the tone for the evening. Doors open—you're welcoming guests, problem-solving in real time, and supervising flow, seating, and safety. What You’ll Do as a Head Usher Lead and supervise usher volunteers Deliver exceptional service during all performing arts events Manage guest flow, seating, and accessibility needs Ensure safety protocols are followed while supervising operations Handle patron concerns with professionalism and confidence Collaborate with FOH leadership using strong professional communication Support a polished, welcoming performing arts environment Schedule & Flexibility Part-time, event-based schedule Evenings, weekends, and some holidays required Minimum of 2 shifts worked per month is required Perfect for candidates seeking flexible work in performing arts What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent 1–2 years customer service experience in performing arts, hospitality, or events 1–2 years supervising or leadership experience Strong professional communication and problem-solving skills Ability to stay calm while supervising in fast-paced environments Physical ability to stand long periods of time, climb stairs, walk, move throughout the venue, and push/pull and lift 20lbs or more.
