Summary of Position St. Michael’s Preparatory School seeks a dynamic, student-centered Varsity Head Girls’ Lacrosse Coach to lead and develop our girls’ lacrosse program. The ideal candidate embodies the school’s mission and core values of integrity, courage, and excellence, demonstrates a passion for mentoring young women, and brings a track record of success at the high school or collegiate level. The Varsity Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program, including team culture, skill development, practice planning, and representing St. Michael’s Prep in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL). Job Details Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Model and reinforce the school’s mission, Catholic identity, and core values on and off the field Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment focused on holistic student-athlete development Plan and execute effective practices and game strategies Teach fundamentals, skills, and advanced tactics of girls’ lacrosse Evaluate and cultivate student-athlete talent; promote sportsmanship and character formation Communicate clearly and proactively with athletes, families, and school administration Oversee program logistics, including scheduling, equipment, and travel Ensure compliance with all THSLL rules, regulations, and reporting requirements Collaborate with the Athletic Department and other coaches to support the broader school community Requirements Required Experience, Degree, and Skills Bachelor’s degree preferred Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, preferably as a head or assistant coach Deep knowledge of girls’ lacrosse, current coaching techniques, and THSLL standards Commitment to the values and mission of St. Michael’s Prep Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
