Head Varsity Tennis Coach School: Marymount School Location: New York, NY Season: Fall 2026 Start Date: August 20, 2026 End Date: November 2, 2026 Compensation: $4,849 - $5,374 stipend + $1,000 preseason stipend Job Description Marymount School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Head Varsity Tennis Coach to lead its varsity girls tennis program for the Fall 2026 season. The successful candidate will create a challenging yet supportive environment where student-athletes can develop their technical skills, competitive mindset, and love for the game. This role is ideal for someone with strong tennis knowledge who enjoys mentoring high school athletes while building a positive and competitive team culture. Schedule Monday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Tuesday: Typically Off Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Thursday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Responsibilities Lead all varsity practices and matches Teach stroke mechanics, match strategy, conditioning, and sportsmanship Develop practice plans that accommodate varying skill levels Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive culture Communicate regularly with athletes, families, and school administration Qualifications Previous tennis coaching and/or competitive playing experience Experience working with high school athletes preferred Excellent leadership and communication skills Passion for player development and education
