Company Description We have been retained by our client to recruit the Head of Wealth Management for its asset management business Our client is an investments management firm in Nigeria licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) to provide portfolio and fund management services with assets under management in excess of N500 Billion The Head of Wealth Management will lead the firm’s private wealth and advisory business, focusing on HNWIs, UHNWI clients, corporates, and diaspora investors. The role is responsible for growing Assets Under Management (AUM), delivering superior investment solutions, and ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulatory frameworks. Job Description 1. Strategic Leadership Develop and implement the wealth management strategy aligned with the firm’s overall business goals Lead business growth initiatives, including market expansion and product development Identify new revenue streams and investment opportunities 2. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), Ultra-HNWIs, and institutional clients Serve as the primary advisor for key clients, offering bespoke financial and investment solutions Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and trust 3. Portfolio & Investment Oversight Oversee client portfolios to ensure alignment with investment objectives and risk appetite Work closely with investment teams to design and deliver tailored asset allocation strategies Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly 4. Business Development Drive client acquisition strategies and achieve AUM (Assets Under Management) growth targets Build partnerships with intermediaries, family offices, and corporate clients Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking platforms 5. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and manage a team of relationship managers, advisors, and analysts Set performance targets and conduct regular reviews Foster a high-performance, client-centric culture 6. Risk & Compliance Management Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies Oversee client onboarding (KYC/AML) processes Manage operational and reputational risks within the division 7. Financial Performance Manage P&L responsibility for the wealth management division Track revenue, profitability, and cost efficiency metrics Prepare and present performance reports to senior management Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field MBA or Master’s degree (preferred) Relevant certifications:Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) SEC-sponsored individual certification Additional Information 15+ years’ experience in wealth/asset management Strong client network (HNWIs/UHNIs) Deep knowledge of Nigerian financial markets Strong understanding of: Nigerian fixed income market (FGN bonds, NTBs) Equities market via Nigerian Exchange Group FX market dynamics and hedging strategies Knowledge of SEC rules and reporting requirements Portfolio construction and risk management expertise
