Description General Statement of Responsibilities Performs general production duties in a J.I.T. manufacturing system, e.g. – Employee Involvement, Total Quality, Continuous Improvement, Housekeeping, Elimination of Waste, Communication, Coordination, etc. that meets production and customer requirements. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities · Operates Heading and/or Boltmaking Equipment · Operates measurement and test equipment required to ensure that quality requirements are met. · Records statistical process control data. · Housekeeping · Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). · Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions. · Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and written instructions. · Performs other duties as assigned. May be used for any assignments: · Set-up of machines. · Cellular manufacturing requirements (such as sorting, packaging, etc.) · Training other employees. · Trouble-shooting on any operations. · Operation of mobile equipment · Performing machine repair. · Minor periodic maintenance and lubrication · Minor servicing of oil mist/smoke collectors

Responsibilities

The operator performs general production duties within a J.I.T. system, focusing on quality, continuous improvement, and waste elimination to meet production requirements. Key tasks include operating heading and/or boltmaking equipment and ensuring quality through measurement and recording statistical process control data.
