THE TEAM…

We are seeking to recruit a Health & Care Intelligence Specialist (Level 7 Apprenticeship) to join the Public Health Team based at Gateshead Civic Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of public health and wellbeing in Gateshead.
You will join a team of motivated staff in carrying out innovative Public Health programmes and projects to drive forward the Council’s commitment to improve health and wellbeing across Gateshead. Your work will be targeted on reducing health inequalities, identifying health and wellbeing related issues and using high quality data, research and evidence in supporting the delivery of structured public health programmes linked to priorities identified in the Gateshead Health and Wellbeing Strategy

Responsibilities

Based in our offices in Gateshead, as an Apprentice Health and Care Intelligence Officer you will be working as part of a team of specialists. Together, we will develop the range, quality and availability of public health intelligence to support the information needs of our Public Health team, Gateshead Council our partners and across our communities.
While undertaking a 36-month Health Care Intelligence Specialist Level 7 Apprenticeship, you will play a key role in the assessment of need within the Gateshead population, reviewing and generating evidence, supporting service evaluation, and promoting best practice in the collection and use of data.
Over the 36-month apprenticeship, 22 months will be as part of an accelerated training phase including the end point assessment period

The format for this is:

  • Tutor-led, interactive seminars via Teams or Zoom, with leading practitioners, typically a day a month
  • Monthly 1-2-1 time with an experienced skills coach
  • Professionally guided small group round tables
  • Behavioural and pastoral support from a Learner Progress Adviser
  • Online learning and self-study materials
  • An individualised Workplace Development Plan focused on both learner and business needs
  • Quarterly reviews with line managers
