THE PERSON:
Previous experience in a practical Environmental, Health and Safety role, preferably in a cleanroom or GMP manufacturing environment, where you have gained expertise in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments. A deep understanding of the significant impact that health and safety can have on a business, with a genuine commitment to keeping people safe as your driving force. A strong appreciation for the importance of compliance with legislation and processes, coupled with an understanding of the human element and a focus on fulfilling our ethical and legal duty of care. Proven experience in managing multiple and complex work streams simultaneously, demonstrating your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience in delivering training and coaching to both individuals and groups would be highly advantageous, enabling you to effectively communicate EHS requirements and drive behavioural change. Familiarity with the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards will be beneficial. Experience of leading on hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies would be advantageous. Your track record showcases perseverance, diligence, and accuracy, reflecting your investigative and methodical approach to work. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role, allowing you to adapt your style to connect with diverse audiences. You possess the ability to influence, persuade, and diplomatically challenge when necessary. Possession of NEBOSH National Diploma, NVQ level 5/6 or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health is essential (Graduate/Certified membership of IOSH).

We’re seeking a practical and professional EHS Advisor to actively promote, develop and manage our company culture across all aspects of environmental, health and safety compliance to ensure we work in a best practice manner at all times and that our team remains safe. Taking a strategic lead, you’ll provide guidance; coaching, and support to functional areas and departments; acting as the single point of contact for EHS-related issues. You will consult and advise on EHS matters, proactively working within a designated area of responsibility to successfully deliver EHS programs.
You will develop, maintain and update EHS policies, procedure, and programs in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, respond to EHS incidents, facilitate follow-up investigation and reporting, and supporting the development of corrective and preventative actions, whilst continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of EHS programs and recommend improvements where necessary.
Deputising for the EHS Manager at meetings and committees when required whilst taking primary responsibility for overseeing a specific area or function, which may include other sites, which may include other sites, the successful candidate will also be expected to provide support to the wider EHS team in meeting requirements across the Company network.
