About the role
AGL have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor supporting the Construction, Power Development and Energy Hubs Teams.
Located in the Newcastle region, this role involves providing Health and Safety support in the development and construction of renewable energy assets as part of AGL’s strategy of decarbonisation and energy transformation journey.
This role involves providing onsite support as AGL’s Health and Safety Project Lead for the Tomago construction project as well as offering Health and Safety support to AGL’s renewable energy projects within the Project Development pipeline as directed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the development, implementation and review of H&S Policy, systems and procedures including AGL contractor management framework.
  • Supporting Projects in accordance with AGL HSE Project Governance Procedure and Contractor Management Framework
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of business/ H&S initiatives and actions.
  • Support the business as required with the delivery of HSE contractor forums for critical contracting engagements.
  • Assisting the Senior Manager with RFP/tender reviews.
  • Monitoring H&S performance for projects and implement HS improvement programs or interventions to address performance or for continuous performance.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety Environment or other related business discipline; Diploma or above.
  • Experience with working with multiple primary contractor projects with an understanding of contractor, sub-contractor relationships and familiar with Contractor Management processes.
  • Demonstrated risk management skills.
  • Exposure to auditing / investigations.
  • Interpersonal skills with high quality accurate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven people/stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence.
