JOB OPPORTUNITY: SHEQ ADVISOR

Position: SHEQ Advisor
Location: Co Tyrone - Site visits in NI/ROI
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Join a leading civil engineering contractor in Omagh, Co Tyrone, as a SHEQ Advisor. This is your opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across diverse construction projects, including Northern Ireland Rail. Occasional night shifts may be required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • NEBOSH OHAS Qualification Certificate (held for at least 2 years).
  • Environmental and Quality qualifications are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with OHSAS 45001 or 18001 and ISO 14001/9001 implementation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the construction sector; knowledge of rail or windfarm works is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A clean driving license is essential for site travel.
Responsibilities
  • Regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; compile reports and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Oversee the completion and regular review of Method Statements and risk assessments.
  • Document and investigate accidents and near misses, implementing recommended improvements.
  • Provide site induction for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees.
  • Maintain and update all relevant SHEQ department administration.
  • Assist in developing required documentation for compliance with OHSAS 45001:2018, ISO 14001/2015, and ISO 9001/2015 standards.
