Description

Ayrton Group are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join us on an ongoing project with a large utilities provider in the Dublin region. Our client will also consider candidates based in the Limerick, Cork, or Dublin regions as they have multiple office locations.
The HSO will lead and support the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across critical projects. The successful candidate will combine deep HSE knowledge with strong project management capabilities to ensure safe, timely, and efficient project delivery.
This is a hybrid role involving 3 days per week working out of the client office, with the remaining days spent working from home.
This is a 12 month contract position with the potential for permanency.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a health and safety role, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects with tight deadlines and high delivery standards.
  • Experience with Work Safe and Behaviour-Based Safety programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced level), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain safety roadmaps and communication plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive, with a hands-on approach to driving safety culture.
  • Able to influence and engage at all levels of an organisation.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Work Safe Programs and Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) systems.
  • Create and manage HSE project plans, roadmaps, and communication plans using Excel, Word, and other relevant tools.
  • Ensure full compliance with local health and safety legislation, regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead HSE planning for time-sensitive and critical delivery projects.
  • Coordinate and participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to integrate safety protocols into all project phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and project status reports.
  • Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to project teams.
  • Track and analyse safety performance metrics; provide reports to senior management.
  • Serve as the primary HSE contact for internal and external stakeholders during project execution.
