JOB SUMMARY

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W) team are part of the People Team supporting Forestry and Land Scotland by providing professional guidance and advice across the organisation.
FLS care deeply about our staff and recognise the importance of taking a proactive approach to improving their health, safety and wellbeing at work. We’re driving forward an ambitious programme that puts health, safety and wellbeing at the heart of our organisation. We also work in partnership with staff and trade unions through a network of safety committees and forums. This empowers employees to actively take part in improving standards.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our dedicated H&S team here in FLS. The role is primarily focused on providing support to colleagues in North Region, but will involve working flexibly across Scotland when necessary. If you are an effective communicator with a passion for promoting health, safety and wellbeing in a diverse and evolving workplace, then we want to hear from you.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You’ll provide support to staff carrying out a variety of different work activities; giving effective advice and guidance to managers, employees, customers and contractors. You’ll work with staff to understand, learn and share practices that support an improving health, safety and wellbeing culture. Working with the rest of the team, you’ll help develop appropriate solutions and systems to effectively manage health and safety risks. You’ll contribute to driving forward regional and national health, safety and wellbeing programmes that make our staff safer and promotes their mental and physical wellbeing. You’ll also help FLS continue to provide opportunities for members of the public to enjoy woodlands safely, without impacting their sense of freedom and adventure.
