Peoplebase are working with a leading organisation in the food sector to recruit an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor. This role is key to promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across site, ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and supporting continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • NEBOSH Certificate (minimum) – essential
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation – essential
  • Previous experience in a similar HSE role – essential
  • Auditing experience and the ability to deliver training – essential
  • Food industry experience – desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for safety

Responsibilities
  • Support managers with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and compliance requirements
  • Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and team briefings
  • Manage inspections, audits, and contractor inductions
  • Investigate incidents, analyse accident trends, and implement improvements
  • Contribute to the development of the site Safety Management System (aligned with ISO 45001)
  • Take an active role in environmental initiatives and sustainability programmes
  • Stay up to date with legislation and communicate relevant changes across the business
