Job Description SGS are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our operations across Queensland. The position is based in Paget. This role is key in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting continual improvement in health and safety practices across the business. Key Responsibilities include, however not limited to: Provide professional health and safety advice, support and coaching to leaders and workers at all levels. Engage, influence and guide the workforce to promote continual improvement in safety culture and performance. Develop and maintain H&S Management Plans for each business line and facility. Maintain risk and hazard registers, ensuring identified risks are communicated and appropriate controls are in place. Promote consistent risk management practices, including the use of Take 5’s and JHA’s. Facilitate timely communication and consultation processes on all H&S matters. Oversee incident, hazard and near-miss reporting, ensuring thorough investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed and monitored. Conduct regular site visits, inspections and audits to assess risk management practices, behaviours, and compliance with H&S standards. Support and coach managers, supervisors and staff to understand and meet their H&S responsibilities. Ensure compliance with all applicable WHS/OSH legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards. Qualifications The successful candidate will have: Completion of a formal tertiary qualification in Health and Safety (degree or post graduate qualification), and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training with a Diploma in health and safety as a minimum. Proven track record in developing and implementing ergonomic solutions to reduce musculoskeletal injuries in physically demanding, high-risk environments. Demonstrated sound knowledge of Australian legislation relating to Occupational Health & Safety and subsidiary documents such as standards and Codes of Practice. Previous experience in a similar position with multi-business activity. Competence in using modern business technology. Current National Police Clearance and Driver's license.
