The Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment within the organization. This position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that promote a culture of safety and health. The Safety Specialist will work closely with various departments to identify potential hazards, conduct training sessions, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  This role is essential for maintaining a safe workplace environment while promoting employee well-being through proactive safety measures. This position is Temp to Hire for a Full Time Permanent Unionized position with full benefits. Wages will be based on experience level.

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels of Traffic Control and Road Saftey
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to create safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to promote awareness and engagement among staff.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Assist in the fabrication of safety equipment or tools as necessary to enhance workplace safety.
