Job Purpose
To monitor the site activities to ensure they are meeting the requirement set in Health and Safety Regulations and Company Quality and Environmental procedures.
Key Duties
To monitor the site activities to ensure they are meeting the requirement set in Health and Safety Regulations and Company Quality and Environmental procedures.
To develop and maintains the Company’s occupational health and safety and quality and environmental management system to the requirements of ISO45001, ISO9001 & ISO14001.
- Develop and review risk assessments and safe system of work
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for the management of risk and the generation of records to confirm health and safety and environment compliance.
- Develop and maintain key quality protocols
To report on breach of legal duties and Company requirements.
To make recommendation to the Company on matters effecting health and safety quality and environment including continually improvement plans and accident/incident reduction schemes.
To establish and chair employee health and safety consultation meetings.
To manage the selection and approval of contractors, including the review of their method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) for their works.
To review accident, incidents and near-miss data and make recommendations for improvements.
To conduct audits and inspections to check work activities meet the required of the safety management Environmental and Quality system and legal duties.
To lead by example and instil a positive safety and environmental culture promoting “everyone goes home safe” mentality.
To provide training and mentoring in all matters relating to Health Safety and Environment and Quality that fall within your skills and experience – such as delivery toolbox talks, familiarisation session, training on risk assessments, safe systems of work and management system processes.
To produce a monthly report for the company and a monthly dashboard for employees and stakeholders on the performance of the organisation against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
Key Skills / Experience
Essential
· NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher) or an equivalent Level 3 Health and Safety Qualification in a related
· Professional membership (or working towards professional membership) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
· Worked on a similar size manufacture or waste facility or similar industry incorporating transport, mobile plant, static plant, materials handling, manual and mechanical processing.
· Knowledge of health and safety legislation and guidance.
Desirable
· Knowledge of environmental, resources and waste management legislation and guidance.
