We are an established health, safety and environmental management consultancy, and have an exciting interim vacancy that has arisen on a contract basis. One of our clients is in need of additional support for approx 3 months, and there is potential for this to become a full time permanent employed role.
The role is site based in a manufacturing environment, working 5 days per week on site. Start time is reasonably flexible, eg 8-4, 9-5 . Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety you will work across multiple work streams and departments, and complete a range of tasks. These include:
- support with auditing / preparation of audit questions, audit follow-up and checking on actions taken etc
- reviewing H&S policies
- reviewing accidents and incidents, and completing accident investigations
- supporting the training department with identification of training and developing inhouse content for short courses
- completing risk assessments, and reviewing existing assessments
- Supporting with internal auditing to meet ISO 45001

PERSON SPEC

We are looking for someone who is flexible in approach, a good communicator (verbal and written) and who can cope with a dynamic work approach where you will be supporting our client in a range of different H&S disciplines. The job is varied, sometimes challenging and never boring.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be qualified to level 6 Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Have at least 5 years experience in health and safety / environmental application.
  • Have a good knowledge of UK legislation and guidance,
  • Be a member of IOSH or IIRSM (desirable but not essential prior to employment with us).
  • Be able to work on their own initiative and have an ambition to self-improve and be part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to interpret it to a range of different situations
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build long-standing client relationships
