HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY (HSEQ) COORDINATOR

Integrated Logistics (NL) Ltd is a full service stevedoring and materials handling company with operations across the province. Integrated Logistics continues to grow its operations and is expanding its employee base. Currently, we are seeking candidates with relevant training and experience for the Full-Time Permanent of HSEQ Coordinator in Long Harbour, Newfoundland.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary training or relevant experience in OHS and Environmental
  • The ability to utilize investigative and audit tools and processes
  • A minimum of two years’ hands-on safety experience
  • Exposure to the Engineering and Mining Industry (Preferred)
  • An in-depth understanding of HSE legislation;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the IL H&S Program, promote safety among the workforce, and maintain safety statistics.
  • Provide field support to employees and shift supervisors, including conducting audits, inspections, and FLRA reviews;
  • Count, file, and review HSE documentation such as FLRA, toolbox meetings, audits, and inspections.
  • Review, enter, source corrective actions, and follow up on the HSEQ reporting program. Address employees’ questions, comments, issues, and safety concerns;
  • Review and provide feedback to employees on safety audits, workplace inspections, HSE reporting cards, FLRA reviews, and accident/incident investigations;
  • Maintain the fall protection program, including equipment inspections and third-party inspections of SRLs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate HSE training, manage certificates, and assist in PPE evaluation and procurement for hazardous materials;
  • Conduct site orientations, HSE, and client training for new hires. Develop and conduct monthly HSE meetings with employees and staff;
  • Lead and manage the on-site OHS committee;
  • Conduct hazard assessments for physical and chemical hazards, develop training, work procedures, and PPE requirements for specific job tasks;
  • Prepare and develop site policies, procedures, and notices in conjunction with HSEQ Lead and Management Lead as required;
  • Aid shift supervisors with HSE requirements as needed;
  • Introduce, encourage, and monitor wellness initiatives;
  • Conduct respirator fit testing for the workforce;
  • Ensure HSE-related supplies are maintained and readily available for use;
  • Perform operational and HSE duties for clients, including data entry, training information management, work notifications, material and equipment ordering, and corrective actions;
