Patriot Forge Corporation is the largest custom open-die forging company in Canada and a leader in the Global Market. Patriot has long-term partnerships with global leaders in Gas Compression, Power Generation, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear Power.
We are currently seeking an Health & Safety Coordinator with experience in an industrial manufacturing setting. As the Health & Safety Coordinator you will apply your industry expertise to ensure accountability for the implementation and monitoring of processes and practices to achieve a safe and healthy working environment.

In addition, the Health & Safety Coordinator will also be responsible for/to;

  • Communicating and enforcing policies, programs and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety
  • Participating in the identification, evaluation, control and management of hazards and risks throughout the organization
  • Conducting orientation for new employees and existing employees on all areas of safety
  • Creating/Revising Safe Work Procedures
  • Co-ordinating and attending all JHSC Meetings
  • Ensure Contractor Compliance – paperwork and monitoring activities on site
  • Arrange and manage fire and evacuation drills at both plants
  • Manage monthly/bi-monthly testing of security/alarms and sprinkler systems
  • Monitor incidents to determine trends or identify common issues
  • Participate in incident investigations determining root cause and corrective action
  • Participate in ‘pre-start’ reviews as required
  • Recommend and prepare material for Toolbox Talks
  • Maintain SDS compliance
  • Remain up-to-date on H&S legislation

As a Health and Safety professional you will posses;

  • An Occupational Health and Safety Management Certificate/Diploma
  • CRSP designation, or actively working towards
  • 7+ years experience in a similar position
  • In-depth understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Experience developing/delivering training programs in all areas of H&S - including lift truck and overhead crane
  • Effective written, oral, communication and presentation skills
