We are seeking a Safety Coordinator for our projects in the BC Interior to facilitate the Company Safety Program, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety across all construction activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Current OFA Level 2 or higher certification (preferred).
  • COR Internal Auditor certification (an asset).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and implement corrective measures.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations, industry codes, and project-specific safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate safety statistics for the assigned site and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Identify, develop, and implement corrective actions for hazardous work conditions or unsafe employee actions in collaboration with field supervision.
  • Conduct incident investigations and produce detailed reports using Root Cause Analysis, including corrective action recommendations.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing Job Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Plans, and Site-Specific Safe Work Procedures.
  • Manage safety and PPE inventory, ensuring timely restocking of supplies.
  • Conduct and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  • Maintain a Corrective Action Log and ensure timely resolution of deficiencies.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training activities, including site-specific orientations.
  • Assist the HSE Manager with Weekly Safety Meeting preparation and incident reviews.
  • Attend project-specific meetings as required.
  • Develop and coordinate site-specific Emergency Response Plans and drills.
  • Serve as First Aid Attendant when required.
  • Perform additional administrative assignments as directed by management.
