Health and Safety Officer

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer with a hospital or healthcare background to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting a strong culture of workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE health and safety regulations, hospital standards, and company policies.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training, inductions, and awareness programs for employees.
  • Monitor fire safety systems, emergency response procedures, and evacuation drills.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Support infection prevention and control initiatives in collaboration with clinical teams.
  • Participate in internal and external HSE audits and inspections.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in a hospital, healthcare, or medical facility.
  • Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety, emergency preparedness, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Pay: From AED1,000.00 per month
