JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting health and safety awareness among employees. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety within the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience in a health and safety role or similar position is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
• Certification in First Aid is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving situations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, inspections, and audits, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Facilitate training sessions on health and safety practices, including first aid training for staff members.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with management to promote a proactive approach to workplace safety through awareness campaigns and initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of safety-related documentation, including incident reports and training logs.
