QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years post qualifications experience in EHS within the construction and/or utility services industry with strong knowledge LOLER and working-at-heights.
  • National Diploma in Health & Safety or an Undergraduate degree from a reputable university.
  • NEBOSH Construction Safety and Health Certificate.
  • Professional Chartered Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or IIRSM).

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong knowledge of international EHS regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities

The role is challenging yet exciting and requires an individual who is able to work individually and as part of a team. You will have a high degree of resilience who can build relationships across our business and be able to positively influence at all levels. You will identify problems and provide suggestions for improvement.
Key Elements of the Role

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supporting the LCC Installation and Service Department and activities.
  • Promote a positive Safety Culture.
  • Guide and mentor LCC Project Managers, Project Engineers on site set up, and act as the EHS interface with the client or prospective clients.
  • Give guidance on the site safety management folder and templates, train and mentor LCC Site Supervisors and Project Engineers (what is required and when).
  • Carry out site inspections/surveys on all LCC Departments through the different sectors of the Company and maintain a high standard of safety. This may also include site visits to remote work locations.
  • Assist in the development of EHS objectives for LCC, monitor and review progress.
  • Be aware of the chemical agent regulations and Keep the Safety Data Sheet register up to date.
  • Liaise with the HSA and EPA on occurring issues and inspections. (This may be the local government Dept associated with the end destination location of the LCC product.)
  • Provide advice and support on key legislative requirements.
  • Maintain, progress, and monitor the site EHS programs.
  • Engage with client’s Emergency response teams and align LCC’s site specific documentation.
  • Maintain EHS records for inspection during external and corporate audits.
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Manager/Service manager, review, update and carry out safety and environmental risk assessments.
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Manager/ Service manager, support the development of specific site
  • Risk Assessments, Method Statements, (RAMS) Site Induction and Safe Systems of Work for both site and service contracts.
  • Assist in managing the hazardous waste materials and ensure compliance to LCC IPPC license requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Contracts Manager/Service manager, ensure that all waste is managed and disposed in a proper manner and all documentation and records are maintained, kept up to date and filed away as appropriate.
  • Liaises with the project manager on the site set up, map out the waste streams and ensure that the DGSA Report and the Legislation Register is completed and kept up to date.
  • Carry out occupational monitoring e.g., gas survey, noise monitoring and dust survey.
  • Work with the EHS Team Lead and Manager to ensure compliance to relevant safety and environmental legislation.
  • Conduct safety inductions for all new personnel. If not, site based, mentor site supervisors on the induction process and filing of records.
  • Assist in Writing and carrying out on specific Toolbox Talks and Safety Notices.
  • In conjunction with the Site/ Service manager, Conduct incident/accident and near miss investigations and preparation of reports.
  • Ensure with the site manager that all statutory inspections of plant and equipment are carried out and records on file.
  • In conjunction with the Site/ Service manager, Assist where necessary with any insurance engineer’s inspection with regards to any insurance claims.
  • Any other EHS duties as required by line manager or relevant sites and services manager.
