Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across our construction projects in Galway.
Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the company-wide Health & Safety strategy, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and incident investigations to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
Maintain and enhance the QEHS management system, ensuring it remains effective, scalable, and aligned with operational needs.
Provide expert guidance to project managers and site teams, fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring performance targets are met.
Carry out on-site audits, identifying and addressing any risks or non-conformances promptly.
Mentor and coach both H&S personnel and wider project teams, building organisational safety capability.
Oversee training and certification frameworks, ensuring workforce competence and compliance are maintained.
Participate in leadership discussions, providing insights and reporting on H&S performance, legal compliance, and strategic risks.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior H&S role, preferably with a main contractor.
Level 8 or higher degree in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
In-depth understanding of Irish construction safety laws and regulations.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Proficient in MS Office and digital safety tools.
Full clean Irish driving licence is essential.
