HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

McHale Plant Sales has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team. As one of Ireland’s largest construction, quarry, forestry and agri equipment suppliers, we are looking for a team player with a high level understanding of the health and safety requirements within these industry sectors to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Proven experience as a health and safety officer, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess potential risks.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various work sites as needed.

· Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legislation and industry standards.
· Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
· Provide ongoing safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for prevention.
· Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, update all safety records required by our customers and suppliers.
· Collaborate with management and employees to develop and maintain a positive safety culture.
· Stay up to date with changes in health and safety regulations and ensure compliance.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for health and safety inquiries and concerns.
