MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- The position requires the successful candidate to have a valid class G driver’s licence or equivalent. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that they have a valid driver’s licence upon being hired.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, to advise staff and recommend options related to health and safety within provincial parks and conservation reserves.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare reports, option notes, briefing materials and correspondence.
- Interpersonal, relationship-building, consultation, and facilitation skills to provide advice, explain policy and/or program recommendations, establish partnerships, and work cooperatively on new initiatives.
- Presentation skills to present information, proposals, and training related to health and safety.
ANALYTICAL SKILLS:
- Analytical skills to research, investigate and assess health and safety issues to identify deficiencies, assess risk, suggest priorities, and recommend solutions.
- Evaluative skills to audit and assess health and safety programs within provincial parks and conservation reserves.
- Implementation/delivery skills in order to develop strategic program implementation plans.
