If so, then application is invited for you to join our Corporate Health and Safety Advisor Team within the multidisciplinary Health and Safety Service.
This post is ideal for candidates with a strong desire to develop a career in health and safety and promote the effective management of health and safety across the organisation. The successful applicant, will provide operational support to the daily functions of the Corporate Health and Safety Advisor Team including for example, conducting workplace visits/inspections, assisting/completing risk/DSE/COSHH assessments, assisting with delivery of training, answering/responding to requests for advice, preparation of reports and undertaking associated administrative duties.

Key experience/skills criteria required for the role include:

  • You will have experience of working in an internal/external customer focused role.
  • Possess a recognised specialist or vocational qualification in a health and safety subject matter.
  • Can demonstrate undertaking previous work that relates to health and safety subject matters.
  • Ability to prepare written material presenting matters in a logical way using the appropriate, style and language for the audience.
  • Basic knowledge of health, safety and risk management principles.
  • Possess excellent communication, IT, and have a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Have a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail.The ability to prioritise workload, work to time scales and work on your own and as part of the wider team is essential.

    You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

    Hours of work for the post are: 37 hours per week. Core Team hours cover Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 16:30. Office base is Ninewells Hospital Dundee.
