Responsibilities

The Health and Security Assistant role provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff, general assistance in wards, cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility and undertakes security related duties as required and or directed.

  • Undertake securing, watching, guarding and/or protecting functions as directed.
  • Undertake a range of cleaning duties as outlined in a daily schedule.
  • Cooking and/or preparing of light refreshments for patients and delivery of patient meals.
  • Porter patients within the facility or campus as requested, for ward transfers, appointments and other needs.
  • Provide general assistance in the ward/ facility including moving heavy equipment, making unoccupied beds and loading/ unloading commercial-type washing machines.
