We are currently hiring a Full Time Health Care Aide to join our team at our Bethany Residence program in Burlington. This position is responsible for providing non-medical support services, life skills, mental health support, laundry, and light housekeeping duties to enable residents to live as independently as possible. Duties include assisting residents with personal care, arranging and escorting residents to appointments, and providing housekeeping services. Such duties are carried out under the direction of the resident, their care plan, and in accordance with Client Service Contracts, laws, and regulations governing service provision. Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, health care or other related qualification preferred. The ability to empathize with people with physical, emotional and social needs is essential. Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required. Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority. Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively are also essential. Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English are requirements. Able to communicate in other languages is an asset. Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively. Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with residents, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners are essential. Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team. A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
