SHC includes inpatient, outpatient, and wellness services, as well as prevention and public health learning opportunities for the community. The campus also includes a YMCA and retail services. The Cardiac Inpatient Unit (ACU 66), working collaboratively with all the clinical teams spread across the South Health Campus, is in the process of hiring a Health Care Aide (HCA). Our unit offers a unique opportunity to work with acute General Internal Medicine and Cardiology patients in a modern environment. The HCA works as a key member of the interdisciplinary health care team and collaborates with staff to provide quality care to patients and families at the Campus. The HCA provides appropriate care, as delegated in accordance with Alberta Health Services polies, procedures and established standards. The incumbent demonstrates consideration of patient’s comfort, safety, privacy, dignity, independence and choice. The HCA working under the supervision of the Health Care Professional, either RN or LPN, is responsible for following the patients care plan using their knowledge skills and abilities to provide competent care. When an HCA does not feel competent to perform an assigned task, they will request guidance from the Health Care Professional.
