Rocky Mountain House has an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Aide in their Acute Care. In this role, the Health Care Aide provides patient care services as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team environment, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse. You will participate in the delivery of quality patient care by assisting with basic personal care and hygiene, mobilizing and transferring, patient nutrition, feeding, changing linens, gathering equipment, restocking, and portering patients and supplies as necessary. You will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide direct patient and family centred care. New graduate HCA’s will be considered. Rocky Mountain House is located I hour west of Red Deer along the North Saskatchewan River. One statement that could describe Rocky Mountain House is “recreational playground”. To the west there is a vast recreational area, with scenic hiking, sight-seeing and camping opportunities. Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this position you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities assisting nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients’ hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs, assisting with organized activities or programs and observing and reporting on a patient’s mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under a regulated health professional you will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.
