HEALTH CARE AIDE - SOUTH WEST

Job Overview:
Join our team as a Health Care Aide and make a meaningful impact by providing essential care and support to patients in various settings, including homes, nursing homes, and hospice care facilities. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their daily activities, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and offering emotional support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to patients in homes, nursing homes, or hospice care settings
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications following healthcare professionals’ instructions
- Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and heavy lifting when required
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients
- Follow care plans diligently to ensure patient safety and well-being
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary
Qualifications:
- Experience in caregiving roles such as home care, nursing home, dementia care, senior care, or hospice care is advantageous
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and procedures
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards patient care
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for tasks involving heavy lifting or prolonged standing

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Preferred if you have a car but if you don’t have a car then candidate should live in NW of Calgary or should be able to commute NW Calgary.

  • Mandarin speaking would be an asset.
