HEALTH CARE AIDE
We are seeking a reliable, part-time, HCA to provide assistance and support, to an individual in a private home setting. We currently have 24/hr care 7 days a week, and a staff of 5-7 caregivers. Position could lead to full-time for the right candidate.
Shifts
Day shift: 7:00am-3:00pm
After-noon shift: 3:00pm- 11:00pm
Night shift: 11:00pm-7:00am
Ability to work weekends is prefered
The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, such as meal prep, cooking and housekeeping. As well as blood glucose, medication and vital monitoring.
*Drivers License and a Reliable vehicle is a must! We are located on a rural property and public transportation does not service our area.
SKILLS
-Experience working in private home care, assisted living or caregiving environments.
-Knowledge and experience with Type 2 Diabetes and Glucose management is an asset.
-Ability to deal with complex or challenging personalities and behaviours.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Competency with meal prepartions cooking, cleaning and other household tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS
-Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License
-Criminal Record Check

-Blood Glucose and Vital sign recording (3x daily). Once per 8/hr shift.
-Assist with Medication reminders, administration, and record keeping.
-Prepare and serve nutritious meals, snacks and beverages according to dietary requirments.
-Perform daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment.
-Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and manager, to ensure routine and quality care.
-Monitor and Report changes in patients condition and behaviour.
-Assist with errands and grocery shopping.
-Overnight care to ensure patient safety and fall prevention.
