Description
As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the HCA will provides clinical support to patients in collaboration with, nurses and other health care providers. The HCA functions according to the job description for Health Care Aide - Clinical. 1. Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide Certificate, or nursing student with successful completion of all level 3 courses of an accredited BScN program, or successful completion of semester 2 courses of a Practical Nursing Program. 2. Previous Inpatient Pediatric experience preferred 3. Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required 4. Meditech training preferred 5. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills 6. Demonstrated initiative and judgement appropriate for the position 7. Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions 8. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 9. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 10. Ability to lift using appropriate lifting techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics 11. Quality Improvement focused 12.Complete Heart and Stroke Foundation course in CPR preferred
