What We’re Looking For

  • Health Care Aide Certificate (or equivalent recognized in Alberta)(foreign-trained nurse or nursing student may qualify)
  • Active Alberta HCA Directory number
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months)
  • Proof of negative TB test
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Reliable vehicle & valid driver’s license
  • Strong communication skills (English required; additional languages an asset)
  • Physically able to lift up to 35 lbs (16 kg)
  • Access to mobile phone and internet
  • Strong verbal and written English; other languages an asset
  • Compassion, reliability, and professionalism under pressure

Your Role With Clients

  • Provide personal care and hygiene (bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing)
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and light exercises
  • Support with meal prep, light housekeeping, companionship
  • Document and report changes in condition
  • Promote safety, independence, and dignity at all times
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Medication assistance and reminders
  • Accompany clients on outings, errands, or appointments
  • Follow care plans, document, and report changes
