Description
As a member of the health care team, this role supports patient care through equipment and supply management, maintenance of a clean, organized, safe environment and participation in selected patient care activities. The HCA provides unit support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Technical Health Care Aides and Clinical Health Care Aides 1. Successful completion of a HCA/PSW recognized program. 2. Successful completion of a CSAO course will be given preference. 3. Current BCLS 4. Experience maintaining and stocking materials and supplies including quotas and purchasing. 5. Recent Emergency Department experience as a HCA-Technical (within 2 years) Required 6. Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required 7. Understanding and knowledge to apply WHMIS and Legislative requirements 8. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills 9. Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position 10. Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions, set priorities and organize work accordingly 11. Physical capabilities including but not limited to the ability to lift, push, pull and bend as needed using appropriate body mechanics. 12. Commitment to attending work daily as scheduled
