OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a variety of settings, including care homes and home care environments. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care while ensuring the comfort and well-being of those you assist. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and families.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with IT systems used in healthcare for documentation purposes is advantageous.
  • Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them diligently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving home visits.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by patient needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Monitor and record patients’ health status, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members in English.
  • Drive to various locations as required for home care visits.
