MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current unrestricted full registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • 2+ years of full-time (2800 work hours or more) Canadian nursing experience, with a solid grasp of Canadian healthcare and a genuine love for working with older adults and in community care settings
  • Demostrated ability to teach adult learners (Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent experience is an asset)

THE FOLLOWING SKILLS WILL BE STRONG ASSETS BUT NOT A REQUIREMENT:

  • Over 3 years of Canadian nursing experience
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma
  • Knowledge of health care aid provincial curriculum and standards
  • organizational abilities, leadership, mentoring, and communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Dedicate 30 hours each week to direct classroom teaching, focusing on complex topics and stepping in where needed.
  • Invest your remaining time in program coordination, curriculum updates, faculty development, and ensuring compliance.
  • Support student progress in the classroom and on clinical placement, offering guidance and conducting comprehensive evaluations.
  • Regularly seek feedback and drive improvements in our curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Foster open communication and teamwork among instructors, admissions, and administration.
  • Build strong relationships with education partners and practice sites so students achieve learning outcomes.
