JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant / live-in carer to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence.
  • Familiarity with care home environments and home care practices is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems for record keeping and communication.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
  • Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the appropriate healthcare staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and activities as required.
  • Drive to various locations as needed for home care visits.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
